The contact owns a 2010 Ford Escape. The contact stated while driving at approximately 15 MPH and making a right turn, the power steering malfunctioned, and the steering wheel became difficult to turn in either direction. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. Additionally, on several occasions, the vehicle failed to immediately start. The contact replaced the ignition switch, battery, starter, and alternator; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 150,000.

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Escape. When the contact attempted to start the vehicle, she had to force the key into the ignition in order to start the engine. It sometimes took several minutes to get the vehicle to start. The vehicle was taken to diers Ford Lincoln (2445 N broad St, fremont, ne) where it was diagnosed that the steering and ignition failed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The VIN was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 25,000.

2010 Ford Escape. Consumer states vehicle has a fast idle speed, ignition key lock problem and a soft brake problem. The consumer requested to have the idle speed lowered to 500 RPM. The dealer stated that could not be done because the idle was set at the factory. The consumer stated the vehicle would roll forward and backwards due to the fast idle speed. He almost hit the back of a building because the vehicle rolled back when he started the vehicle in reverse. The key was difficult to turn in the ignition which made it difficult to start the vehicle.
