This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Ford dealer.
I have brought my truck to the dealership SIX times for rear hatch leaks. After two technical service bulletins, and new weatherstripping, I've now been told that it's MY problem and I need to clean the weatherstripping because if it gets dirty, it will leak. I was told to use a can of silicone and cloth, and that maintaining the cleanliness should eliminate the leaking. Oh, and apparently if you drive at higher speeds it pressurizes the car which can push the weatherstripping out and allows dirt in, also contributing to the problem.
They didn't seem to offer any suggestion as to why my mother in law's IDENTICAL vehicle has had no issues. Or why none of the other weatherstripping on the vehicle doesn't leak. The dealership where I've been going advised they have 12 other trucks with the same issue. I am so fed up with Ford, I don't know what step to take next. I wish I could get the time back that I've wasted trying to have my Escape repaired!

Within the last 3 weeks before I brought my car for the 24 000km maintenance, I saw at 3 occasions that water was leaking from the back window. So when I brought the car to my Ford dealer, I just mention it to the guy and they looked at it and they changed it.
