I've already replaced shield #1; now, shield #2 is broken and needs to be replaced for a 3rd time. This is in addition to the !#@> crappy lug nuts which will cost $80.00 plus (after market) or $220.00 for the Ford replacement kit.

Goodbye Ford.

Escape SE 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission

The engine splash cover/ splash shield has come loose again on the front driver side of the car. I don’t know how long it has been loose, but I noticed it earlier this month. The cover is hanging lower than it should and is missing the bolt to fasten it to the body of the car. So there is no way to fix it yourself. This problem occurred when we first bought the vehicle and was fixed. Dealer said that the bolt must have been stripped and said they fixed it. I recently saw a 2013-2016 Escape driving in my area with the whole engine splash shield dragging on the ground while it was driving. I tried to secure it with some duct tape for now. I am hoping that doesn’t happen to mine. That is what caused me to check this my own vehicle. Will update and add pics ASAP...
