The paint came off the outside driver handle down to the metal. I have the pearl white paint. The car was not matched properly and now I have a bright white door handle and pearl white car. I was so frustrated that I had to have the car put in for a paint job with just having it less than a year. The autobody shop said it was typical for this to happen because of the natural acid in peoples fingers.... I have had 4 other Fords, which never had that problem. I was told it happens more often to the back tailgate as well. This is not easy to detect because remember its the outside handle(but the inside part, where you grasp the handle). Be sure to inspect your vehicle for this type of defect with the paint.
