premature brake wear premature brake wear premature brake wear premature brake wear

When picking up the vehicle from oil change, at the dealership, the service adviser told me that the rear rotors were "pitted and grooved". Each rear brake lining was measured at 4 MM. The front rotors and pads were at 6 MM and were fine. The dealer was going to charge $453! So I went with another repair shop. It seems like we have spent our time and money fixing Ford's mistakes/defects with this vehicle.

Escape SE 1.6L 4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 28,000 miles

In 40+ years of driving I have always know that the rear brakes wear out once to twice for the front ones. As the only owner of the 2013 Ford Escape with 28000 suburban and highway miles, I thought that I was in an alternate universe when on inspection by the dealer I was told that the rear brakes had only 3MM left and that the rotors were rusty. The cost was "only $348". I might add that the fronts have 7MM of life left and the the rotors look brand new. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!

Escape Titanium 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 44,000 miles

Need total rear brake replacement. This includes rebuild calipers and replace rotors and shoes. This model has only calipers on one side of the rotors. This condition was brought to my attention on a routine service oil change and tire rotation. I was also told that the tires are wearing, good news evenly, but these also have only 44000 miles and are a odd size so tires are hard to find.

This news sucked and we have also had three rear ends placed in this vehicle.
