When driving the vehicle the vehicle will just shut off. Driving down the street at 55 the vehicle just shuts off almost causing a real bad accident. I have had this car for roughly a year and a couple months and the vehicle has stalled at least a minimum of 50 times. I have taken the car into a shop to get diagnosed and no-one can figure out the issue. My 17 year drives this vehicle and if this is unsafe to drive. I seen the numerous complaints about this same issue on my Ford Escape 2013. This vehicle has never stalled just sitting still always stalled while moving forward between the speeds of 20-65

I pulled in the drive way. Put the SUV in park but my car was still rolling. I noticed my dash said I was in neutral. I turned the car off then back on but my gear shifter was locked. I then started looking up with the problem may be. I was about to release my gear shifter but using the unlock white lever under the compartment. Still nothing changed my car was still in natural. Had emergency break activated to keep the car in place in my drive. Kept searching an found out the problem would be the transmission cable bushing. It was almost midnight so I left my car overnight with E break on till day light. This morning went out to investigate an sure enough it was detached. The bushing was gone. I manually but my car in park. Called all auto stores an the informed me there was a recall on this very issue with my year make an model. They also do not sell that part. I had my girlfriend drive my car to the nearest Ford company in greeneville tn to park my car till tomorrow, Monday March 22, 2021. I had to manually put the car in reverse. Then in drive to get it there. Please advise. I put in my VIN an didn't see my car on this recall list.

This seems to be an intermittent problem but the vehicle will stall with no warning on acceleration (in motion). The vehicle will start again and this can happen several times in a row. No check engine light visible when this happens. Ford service has no idea what is causing this as we have described this problem to them several times.

I bought my vehicle in June of 19 with 91 thousand miles. In 3mos. My engingine began to vibrate. My hood was vibrating and trans was shifting hard and jumping in and out. Took it to Ford in mesquite tx. I paid 800 + dollars for motor mount. Two days later vibrations return. Took it back. They said that's normal. Didnt do diagnostics. 2mos ago it started rattling from the rear. Vibrations worst. Ford said its transmission mount now. This car has over 10 recalls performed. I cant afford to fix. I took for another license shop. Mechanic said he wouldn't touch it he said the exhaust and mounts go out frequently on these cars. It would kill in on his one warranty. Said mounts can go out again within 3months. I'm stuck with this money taking lemon. 2013 with 101 thousand miles.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Escape. The contact stated that his daughter was driving approximately 15 mph, she stopped the vehicle and shifted to park, released the brake pedal and the vehicle started rolling forward. She depressed the brake pedal again and engaged the parking brake which stopped the vehicle from moving. The vehicle was turned off and restarted however, the instrument panel indicated that the vehicle was still in drive but the gear shifter was in the park position. She released the parking brake and the vehicle still rolled and the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle moved as she was not on a hill. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnosis but, an independent mechanic diagnosed the failure as a detached shift cable and the bushing which deteriorated and detached from the shift cable as well. The shift cable was no longer attached to the transmission. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure experienced was related to NHTSA campaign number: 18V471000 (power train). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and that as the vehicle was not manufactured on May 15,2013 to September 15, 2013 it was not included in the recall. The contact stated that his vehicle was manufactured on September 9,2012. The manufacturer stated that the repairs were not covered. The contact was informed to call an authorized dealer and pay out of pocket and keep receipt in the event that the recall was expanded for reimbursement. The contact stated that college station Ford (1351 earl rudder fwy S, college station, tx 77845) was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not included in a recall, and that there was no warranty for the failure and he needed to pay out of pocket for the repairs. The approximate failure was 135,000.

Starting in may of 2020 my Ford Escape started stalling while driving on the street as well as the expressway it hesitates it does not accelerate the moment you tap the accelerator the car starts to sputter and then completely stalls out and stops in the middle of wherever you are the street parking lot it doesn't matter it also has done this back-to-back multiple times occurring maybe four to six times in a row barely allowing me to make it from one destination to the other. The Escape also overheated replaced the coolant sensor replaced the fuel regulator and it still does the same exact thing. It just decreased the amount of times that it would do it in a row so now it does it to three times. It also stalls out and dies while it stoplights making left or right turn as you're approaching an intersection coming to a stop barely hitting the accelerator

I went thru the car wash and tried to put my car from neutral to drive and the gear jumped into park jaming the transmission into reverse. Then I lost all power, I couldn't start my car and began to be rear ended by another car wash customer. I had to habe the car towed for repairs & rent a car until repairs were completed. I researched and found there are recalls from Ford on the transmission shifter cable. Ford refused to acknowledge the recall for my vehicle. I was told to pay for repairs and "if" a recall comes available then I would be compensated. Thank god I wasn't driving on the highway at the point this bushing broke loose! this is a hazard for more than a few 2013 Ford Escapes and should have been included in the list of VIN# for the recall. Very unsatisfied from the Ford company.

Purchased Ford Escape in 2014. Had 39,000 miles on it. The vehicle started having issues with the shifting in the engine. Took it to a Ford dealership and was informed it would cost several thousand dollars to repair it. I took the Escape to a reputable shop in town and they fixed it. The cost was $4,346. It has come to my attention there is a court settlement to reimburse buyers who were indisposed by the deficiency of this vehicle. Please reimburse me for faulty parts.

In my driveway, I put the car into park and turned vehicle off. It felt odd, so I tried to turn the car back on and vehicle would not turn on. A message saying the vehicle was not in park displayed. When I put one leg on the ground to exit the vehicle with slight pressure the vehicle moved backward. After releasing gear shift, I was able to put vehicle in neutral. The vehicle will start and drive, but will not go into park. After talking to Ford service department, I looked for recall for this problem. One exists for the make and model but this car doesn't qualify even though it appears numerous complaints have been filed.

I have had my Escape for about 1yr. And for the past 6 months I have been getting a code P0234 which was read at a local auto zone which reads wastegate solenoid this is happening to me and many many other people around the world the solenoid itself keeps going bad and causing issues such as acceleration problems, losing power and dying down while driving even on an interstate and highways and sometimes it'll do it 2 or 3 times in a row before finally running and getting me where I need to go such as work or my child's school or doctor appointments or to the store. This issue should've been resolved by Ford making it so the wastegate can keep up with the turbocharge in the Ford Escape 1.6L. Other people used their power train warranties to have it fixed just to have to pay out of pocket for another one. It is a very serious ongoing issue with not just my car but others and the part is $200 each time it needs replaced and it is literally never the hoses it's the solenoid giving too much boost over 4psi which is absolutely ridiculous these cars need recalled the wastegate isn't compatible to keep up with the turbocharge itself in the car and if not fixed then people have to replace the turbo itself or buy a new engine or replace head gaskets and it could cause a serious wreck if someone is driving going 70mph on a highway and then boom your car died all because of a solenoid that doesn't work for the 2013 Ford Escape because Ford doesn't want to deal with the fact these cars are not road material and they are not safe for anyone to drive. They sincerely need recalled and nobody should have to pay for something that should've been dealt with before being sent out to the world. I really hope you consider investigating and getting these cars recalled. It'll save everyone time, effort, and money. I have proof of all the forums I could find too of the same issues I am having.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Escape. The contact stated while reversing into a parking space, the gear shifter failed to shift from drive to reverse. The gear shifter was shifted to park but indicated that the vehicle was in neutral. The vehicle was not taken to an independent mechanic nor dealer for diagnosis or repairs. The contact researched the failure online and found NHTSA campaign number: 18V471000 (power train) which he linked to the failure however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the recall due to the vehicle's manufacture date. The failure mileage was approximately 148,000.
