Escape SE 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 13,100 miles

I bought a brand new Ford Escape SE, not used, it was for reliable work transportation and a couples main vehicle. This damn vehicle turned on the hazard lights while my wife was turning and apparently the computer put it into park while she was driving. The engine lost power but she still had brake control, the dash was flashing vehicle in park and she coasted to her work parking lot.

She called me and I thought a baby had died or she hit someone, then I found out the car had done this. What the hell? I told her to turn off the car wait a minute and start it again, it worked. I called the dealership and told them about it and they said they could get it in.

Fortunately I purchased an extended warranty for this vehicle. Once I opened the hood while test driving I said not going to be able to do anything to fix this. I got the warranty and for some reason it covers rental vehicles. I appreciate paying out the ass for a car and getting to drive a POS for a rental THANK YOU FORD. This is the first complaint, I will post another right now, it's been less than 2 months since the first problem. I'm already trying to figure out another vehicle and it will not be a Ford. This isn't minor crap this is shutting your vehicle down and your screwed kind of thing. I can only imagine what it did to the transmission.
