I HAVE BEEN REPORTING THIS PROBLEM TO TWO DEALERSHIPS AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE ABOUT IT. I FIRST TOOK IT WHERE I PURCHASED IT AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS FIXED THAT I COULD COME AND PICK IT UP. WELL, I PICKED IT UP AND IT WAS NOT FIXED. I AM STILL HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM AND I AM GETTING THE RUN AROUND WITH IT. I HAVE LISTENED TO OTHER FOR ESCAPES AND I HAVE NOT HEARD ONE THAT SOUNDS LIKE MINE.

I have a 2013 Ford Escape and love my car until now!! I heard a ticking noise in my engine so I took it in to dealership and was told that it is normal sound of a ECO-boost engine.... so I left. Still hearing noise, I went back not only to tell them about noise but another recall again. I was told that's normal. I told them that it sounds like it's firing into a tin can and how can this be normal? Well it's not.
In April I went to a different dealership told them my story and waited for it. Yes, they came back to tell me it's not normal and I need a new engine. I was in shock. Now for the best part, they tell me it's not covered under warranty cause it's my fault. I ask how can this be my fault? I have taken it in twice for this and twice I was told nothing is wrong. The engine was full of sludge, and yes, I take care of my cars and yes, I had oil changes done. So again I ask how can this happen? Well, I believe FORD knows what the problem is but don't want to pay to fix...... So I'm stuck paying for a new engine.
This is so wrong, with all the recalls on this motor for over heating, fire, leaking ...... Something happened during that time they say they fixed it.. I say NO, THEY DIDN'T.
So maybe you should think twice before you buy a FORD. Wow, I never thought I would ever say that as I have always bought FORD.
