Ford shop manager said was caused by short trip driving and engine temperature not getting up to normal. and was un-burned fuel getting into the oil.
Most all trips are 6 miles+ and the Escape is in a heated garage. Manual says to be sure and not overfill.
Same manager said there was a bulletin from Ford that overfill of 8 mm was acceptable. That is approximately
.315 inches . Mine increased to over 1/2 inch in 550 miles driven. Antifreeze has dropped a little but no sign of foaming in the oil. Speedometer reading about 23000.
