If this is just a bitch complain screen , where nothing gets said or done, i cant waste my time,,, if this is going to fords and the dealerships, and something can get done, i well say,,,,,i purchased in Jan 2017 ford escape 2013, its terrible on gas. i have spend $70 in 3 days,, just local driving through town,, no out of town driving. i went to Victoria Fords, they said there was no problem with the truck, they did some tests,, and said i must have been driving it in the S gear. i said no,,, i have been driving it in the D gear. That was their solution. There has to be something that can be done. I dont make lots of money, and when half my check goes to gas, there is a problem. I didnt have a choice but to purchase a vehicle,, got into a truck accident and my torrent was a right off..(not my fault other wise i still be driving my torrent V6 , which was great on gas.

To Increase your gas mileage...switch out your OEM plugs for NGK Iridium's, and increase your octane level in the fuel you use!, and you will get a 10-15% increase in your mileage.

Escape SLE V6

This auto does not even get the in town mileage when I am on the road. Never gets anywhere near the on road mileage. Best mileage I have ever gotten on road is about 22 miles per gallon. Sticker said I should get 24 in town and 34 on the road. Does not come anywhere close to those figures.

The reason being that the four wheel drive is on much of the time.

I hate the ford escape. Will never buy another ford unless they are willing to make up for all the extra I have had to spend on gasoline for this problem car.

When you advertise 30+ miles per gallon, and the government certifies this as true, and EVERYBODY gets around 21 mpg, it is a giant CON JOB. That is a 30% difference in actual mileage vs advertised mileage. This is unacceptable. On a $1000 of gasoline purchased over a year, that is $333 of theft out of my pocket, taking food off my table, cheating my kids out of college funds.

Escape Bright Beltline Molding 6 Speed 2.0L

Ever since I got the car the mileage sucked - thought perhaps it needed to break in - no such luck !

Took it in for inspection and asked dealer, they acted like I was an idiot and said there is nothing they can do and have had no other complaints. I explained how off the mileage was but there was nothing they would or could do. I have heard that Ford has 3 other 2013 models where they were giving money back for misrepresenting the mileage (ex. Explorer) but Escape was not on the list. However, I now see there are others out there like me.

With this small tank that takes about $35.00 to fill I am going to the gas station all the time. Only getting average mileage of 15.7 MPG. When we were on the highway we got it up to 16 - geez. Car was estimated to get 21 city/ 28 with combined 24. Way off , this is supposed to be an Eco boost engine ??? I do not know what to do but I will not give up as this is awful

My car guzzles gasoline. It stays in 4 wheel drive way too much of the time and that is a gas hog. Ford should not advertise on their sticker in the window that you will get 34 on the road and 24 in town, when in fact, I only get 22 on the road and 17 in town.

I will never purchase local or American made again. Back to foreign for much better gas mileage than a Ford gets.

This ford escape gets awful gas mileage. I do not even get in town reported mileage on the road. Car stays in four wheel drive way too much of the time. Taylor ford does not even want to talk about four wheel drive or any other problems with gas mileage.

I bought this 2013 Ford Escape SEL mostly due to style and gas mileage expectations. I do a lot of freeway driving and I have averaged 19 mpg when it was reported to get 21-30. major bummer!

Overall it is a LEMON, too many problems. 7 recalls, poor fuel mileage, electrical problems, front end rattles. Dealer tried to repair, made it awful to drive, carried back to dealer. I left two days, they said repaired, ask what was done, o; it fixed itself. Blowing smoke at me. I was a Ford tech for 35 years, I know what's going on. I forgot more than they ever know

EPA mileage - 23-28-33

Gas mileage I am getting in city with 40% normal and 60% freeway - 16-18. Really pathetic, not even hitting the min 23 mark. Tested with RPM meter under 2 for two tank empty to tank empty. Best I thus far got is 19.

Went to dealership to check. Not sure what they did, but they came back with 20 something reading, and it is still less than what EPA guidelines mentioned.

I FEEL CHEATED!!!!

Fuel mileage is way off from EPA reported for this vehicle. Was sold on the idea of 6L/100km hwy and 9L/100km city. Huge BS.... Within a month I was getting more then 30% worse mileage approx 12.3L/100km combined hwy and city driving on a daily basis.

I started complaining to the dealership immideately, they ran diagnostics and told me the vehicle was fine and running exactly as it should be. They offered the excuse that I had to break the engine in. After a further 2 months of driving I had seen no improvement in fuel mileage, I again brought the vehicle into the dealership, this time the service dept reset the computer controls and was nice enough to re educate me on how I should drive the vehicle, essentially telling me not to treat it as a race car. Wow.... Thanks for the condescending talking down too. I rather curtly replied that I was well versed in easing a vehile to speed, I then asked if the mechanic assumed that I was using my baby seats as positional weights so I could take corners at 80km/h.

It has been over a year of driving now (20,000 km) and this vehicle still far exceeds the EPA fuel ratings, currently 11.6L/100km driving. I have tried multiple driving styles in an attempt to reach the rated fuel mileage, ( from old granny style, to more aggressive accelerate to speed and cruise), currently I just try to keep the rpms below 3000 while city driving. This has given the best fuel mileage so far but definatly not where it should be.

Avoid this vehicle at all costs. If you are going to spend this much money on fuel you might as well get bigger, roomier vehicle to enjoy.

Escape Titanium 2.0L

I bought the Ford Escape because of all the hype about the gas mileage, Well it's a bunch of Bull. I do mostly Highway driving and I'm averaging around 23 mpg, that's on the highway. In the city I get about 21 and the more I drive I can watch the gas gauge go down.

I can't believe Ford is getting away with LYING about the MPG. I do love the car and the way it drives but I hate stopping at the gas station every time I turn around. Please if anyone out there is getting a Class Action against Ford please please include me. I am stuck in this vehicle for three more years.

Escape SEL 2.0L

The vehicle is using nearly twice the amount of fuel as the Government of Canada testing methods indicated. Have had the vehicle to the dealership where purchased and something was recalibrated but it did not change anything. Average fuel consumption is 13.33 litres per 100 kilometers, not what Ford indicates should be.The vehicle has consumed 312.59 litres of gasoline to go 2345 kilometers,. The dealership said because there is no directive from Ford about this problem, not much can be done. This is my first Ford product purchased in all the years of driving and it will be my last. Friends said to stay away from the domestic autos and buy an import as there would probably have less problems. I should have listened, although I felt I should support the North American auto industry. Not at all happy, rather PO'd.
