Escape SE 1.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 14,913 miles

We had the vehicle for 5 years when we traded as we were fed up. The winter before we traded, we started losing coolant with no check engine light on so we just continually topped it up.

In July 2019 the check engine light came on so I immediately took it to Ford and they recognized what was wrong. We had been dealing with this issue for six or seven months so we decided to trade it in. We lost money and had to buy another one. Very very frustrating!!

Escape Platinum 20.L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 18,900 miles

1st the SES light came on followed by the air bag indicator and traction control lights. The throttle became unresponsive and the vehicle slowly came to a stop. Shutting the vehicle off in heavy traffic did not seem like a smart thing to do but with no other choices besides causing an accident, that is what I did. The vehicle did restart after 30 or so seconds and all systems returned to normal. The dealer advised that I not worry about it unless it does it again. Hopefully, this doesn't happen at an intersection or railroad crossing....

Was on my way across town when my vehicle stalled and the engine light came on. Was in traffic on a busy street so I called the Dealership and informed them that I was on my way if I could make it and let them know that I may not be able to make it and they would have to come and pick us up. This was really frustrating because I purchased a new vehicle (2014) and I should not be having this type of problem. After several days, my vehicle was repaired and I picked it up.

Escape SE

June 2, 2104 my check engine light came on and my 2014 Ford Escape started to misfire. This is a 7 month old brand new car with 11,000 miles on it. As of today 7/8/2014 I still do not have my 2014 Ford escape back in my possession. The dealership says I need a new motor. Moisture was in engine block causing the misfire. Ford Corporate has not called me back until today. I called them on 6/20/14 and they called me back today 7/8/14. They had no answers for me. I told them I wanted the vehicle bought back. Ford said they would start the process but would take 2-3 weeks to "start the process" but they can't say if they will buy their vehicle back. Ford Corporate Customer service is HORRIBLE. The dealership is as frustrated as I am with the service and help they are getting from Corporate. I have bought Fords for over 30 years, I come from a family of GM, Chevy and Ford workers but I'm seriously thinking of buying a Toyota. I don't feel safe in my Ford....

I can't tell you how disappointed I am with Ford Customer Service.
