Why do they keep putting these steering units in their cars when the previous years have the same problem and have been recalled? How many complaints or deaths or crashes do they have to experience before they recall this year or any year that has this unit in them? Maybe Morgan and Morgan needs to get involved!!!

I turned on my car started to drive out of my driveway and steering wheel locked up could not turn the steering wheel. A power steering fault displayed on the dash. Due to the possibility of crashing and losing control of the vehicle. I did not drive it. Towed my 2014 Ford Escape to CAVALIER Ford, 1515 South Military Hwy, Chesapeake, VA 23320. on August 27th 2020. They fix my engine light issue, check my brakes and did repairs for recalls but never mention that they could not duplicate steering and find a code for my power steering fault on the display. When I picked up the vehicle I asked them did the repair they made fix all my issues.

They told me yes and I left with the vehicle not knowing the steering was not fixed. On October 10th, a family member drove my vehicle and the steering problem displayed again while in the middle of driving and they lost control of the vehicle almost crashing. I was furious. The dealership lead me to believe my car was fixed and put my family, myself and possibility innocent pedestrians lives on the line. They fail to understand how serious the issue is.

After researching I found numerous complaints about my car having power steering issues. Ford refuses to recall the problem. This dealership wanted to charge over $2500 to fix my car. I found a cheaper cost with another Auto Center. The mechanic where my car was fixed stated these 2014 Ford Escapes always have issues with power steering, so people please be on the lookout. I don't want you to die and kill anyone. But Ford Motor Company could careless about your lives.

Power steering has totally failed after a year of failing off and on. It would work again if you stopped the car, turned of the motor and restarted it. But recently stopped working while in a turn, with no warning, which caused me to drive on a sidewalk and clip the corner of a building. Very dangerous! A quote of $2200 was given to fix it! this is coming after replacing the computer last year for $2000. Ford refuses to recall it although they have recalled other years.

The power steering does not engage sometimes. Today I got a warning to service the power steering assist. My local mechanic said it would cost about 1400 dollars and he told me that he has seen a number of the same issues with Fords.
