At only 14K miles, I was told I needed new brakes for "lack of use". I live in an extreme weather state (northern New England). I only drive about every 4 days and the car is not garaged. The brakes were loaded with rust. I was very disappointed by that news. The Ford dealership I went to, I would come to find out by going there many more times, is very honest and does not charge much. Ironically, I never needed new brakes on a Jeep Cherokee (owned 3 yrs), GMC Jimmy (3 years). I only got new brakes on a Jeep Liberty (owned 12 yrs) until about 50k miles on the front and about 90k on the back brakes. However, I drove those vehicles almost every day and the three vehicles were garaged.
