We were driving home from a short day trip to see family and were still 45 minutes away from our house when the engine lost acceleration power. RPMs would go up but the car wouldn’t move. This happened with no warning, no alerts or shaking of any kind. This is my only car and received regular maintenance. I have owned it a little over a year. We had to call a tow back home ($180) and it sounds like we will need a new transmission ($2700). I called Ford corporate - all they could tell me was to file a complaint with the NHTSA for a safety concern and hope they do a recall. You can be reimbursed for repairs if a recall is made, so I urge you to do so! It’s a very simple process just go to www.nhtsa.gov and complete the online form. Ford should have to pay for this - there is no way a car this expensive, new, and well maintained should be having major transmission issues.
