The contact owned a 2015 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while the vehicle was in the garage, the vehicle caught on fire. The contacts husband and a bystander managed to extinguished the fire. The fire department was contacted and a report was filed. No bodily injuries were sustained. Medical attention was contacted for treatment for her husbands odor in ventilation from the fire. Erie insurance was contacted and towed the vehicle to a lot where it was deemed a total lost. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 77,000.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, a vacuum sound was heard while depressing the accelerator pedal with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an unknown Ford dealer where the purge valve and vacuum sensor was replaced however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was then taken to plaza Ford Inc (1701 belair rd, bel air, md 21014) where the purge valve and vacuum sensor were replaced a second time. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.

When I parked the car I turned the key to stop the engine and kept going, I put the key back to simulate turning it on and again turning it off and it was the same. I tried to run the car to see if it will stopp for a while but the car kept running. I searched the internet and I found that it will could have a recall, when I took it to the dealer they indicated that there was no recall for this problem..they will check the issue.

Driving my 2015 Ford Escape 1.6 turbo on interstate, started to feel like transmission was slipping but a few days later the check engine light came on code P26B7 at dealer (code P0012 at O'reilly auto parts). O'reilly says it was a generic code for "cam shaft sensor" but Ford says the code P26B7 is coolant bypass valve C needs replaced costing about $500. I noticed there are a ton of other complaints on this same 2015 Escape and even a recall for this problem on the 2014 Ford Escape 1.6 turbo. Obviously there needs to be a recall on the 2015 as well! also Ford dealer mike murphy Ford in morton il says my transmission is fine though I don't feel like it is.

While traveling on the interstate in our 2015 Ford Escape titanium, we began to exit and found we had no brakes. We had to utilize the parking brake in order to bring the car to a stop. We took the car to a Ford dealership for repairs. They determined that the brake power assist had failed because the vacuum pump locked up causing the cam drive to break inside the cam shaft. This also caused metal shaving contamination in the engine of the car which can cause the motor to lock up at any time without warning. Our research revealed that a recall was issued for this exact problem in the 2013 Ford Escape; however, there has been no recall issued for the 2015 Ford Escape. This is clearly a design flaw/faulty parts issue that still has not been corrected. We have contacted the manufacturer to see if they would do anything; but they refused and also refused to let us speak to someone else regarding this. So, we are stuck with a $2,200 car repair bill on a 4 1/2 year old vehicle with 74,000 miles that Ford knows is an issue but refuses to do anything about. This doesn't include possibly a new motor if it locks up due to the metal shaving contamination. The brakes failing unexpectedly was a safety hazard and now we have another potential safety hazard if the motor locks up while we are driving the vehicle.

The car a 2015 Ford Escape SE AWD with ~ 86,600 miles would shut off and have to be restarted after sitting for awhile. It also started to run a little rough. So I took into a Ford dealership for service and a tune up on December 24th 2019. After the tune up it still exhibited the same rough riding and shut off. The next day on December 25th after sitting overnight shutoff initially and had to be restarted. While backing out of the driveway it shuddered violently and white smoke poured out of the tail pipe. I pulled it back into the garage, and took it back to the Ford dealership the following morning December the 26th. After some time the assistant service manager informed me that it was leaking coolant into the engine, and that one of the spark plugs had been fouled with coolant. After more testing and holding the car for two weeks they informed me that I needed a new engine. What's odd is that I never witnessed the car over heating, and the check engine light didn't come on till I was driving the car back to the Ford dealership on the morning of December the 26th. Ford customer assistance says that they'll pay 1/4 of the cost to replace the engine. After doing some research I've found quite a few Escape owners that have had similar complaints with the same issue of coolant leaking into the engine and have been told that they need a new engine. These engines are failing prematurely due to engines over heating and the blocks failing. I suspect that the coolant sensor is also defective. This 2015 Escape was purchased new at the end of 2014, and maintained by regular oil changes and maintenance.

First incident occurred when I stopped for gas. The car would not start after refueling. A few minutes later it started and ran with no problems. The second time I was entering a county highway at app. 35 mph and the car stalled out. I was able to drift onto the shoulder and the car restarted a few minutes later and ran normally. The third time, approximately a week later, I was driving in the parking lot of a shopping mall at app 20 mph. There was a loud, continuous noise from the rear of the vehicle which sounded like I was dragging an object. The car then stalled and would not start for a few minutes. It now runs normally but I have scheduled an appointment with capital Ford of wilmington, nc for 12/31/2019. Each time the stalling happened, it seemed as if the engine was not getting any gas.

My vehicle had stalled on 3 different times but then started back up so did not think anything about it. Then in Oct or Nov it acted like it was going to stall when I pulled out of a business onto a street. A week or 2 later I noticed my heater did not work. Checked coolant and it was very low. Took to local Ford dealership and they said water in engine and oi in coolant. Replace engine for 8000 dollars. I do not understand. I had had my oil cha ged at tht dealership prior and no doumentation of low coolant. I have 110.000 miles on my car. It is the same engine that Ford is having probels with. Ford said they can not belp me. No recalls on my car. I had 100,000 mile warranty. I had a Ford Explorer before with V6 and had 190.000 miles. Are there any more complaints on the 2015?

The vehicle was sitting parked under a carport for almost 24 hrs. When it inexplicably caught fire. The ensuing fire burned the carport and spread to the structure causing extensive property damage to the exterior and interior of the residence. A passerby made the elderly occupants of home aware of the fire and they were able to get out. The area of fire origin was identified as being on the passenger side of the engine compartment. There appears to be some other evidence and/or instances of fires in these vehicles occurring the same way.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Escape. While driving 65 mph and approaching an intersection, the vehicle stalled and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road and powered off the engine. The vehicle was restarted and was able to drive normally. The vehicle was driven to covert Ford (11514 research blvd, austin, tx 78759, (512) 345-4343), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The technician informed the contact that if the engine warning indicator flashed again, the contact should not drive the vehicle. The contact stated that the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer where it was diagnosed that the solenoid purge valve needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the vehicle was in the process of being repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

While examining the failure, a diagnostic instrument displayed an error code of P1450, which indicated excessive vacuum in the fuel tank. Later, while driving, the vehicle suddenly stalled and was towed from the scene. The cause of the failure was not determined. Suburban Ford (21600 woodward ave, ferndale, mi) and the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 81,000. The VIN was invalid.

While turning into a subdivision my car registered a warning for overheating. There was no visible signs or smells of overheating. I parked the car in a friend's driveway and turned it off like the warning signal instructed me to do. Upon checking, the coolant was within range and not empty. I left the car parked overnight. The next day I started the car and it immediately registered hot, and pegged out the needle. I purchased a new coolant sensor from a Ford dealership but that did not change the car registering hot when the ignition was turned on. The car spent a week without being turned on and still registered hot when started. I had the car towed to hilbish Ford in kannapolis, nc. They replaced a second sensor and a coolant bypass valve. The repair cost was $682.74. I have been in contact with Ford where my concern has been documented and assigned case number - cas-24112659-S7N8M3. While researching possible recalls I did discover that 2013 and 2014 Ford Escapes had recalls for coolant issues. My Escape is a 2015 and had only 35239 miles at the time of this issue. I would like this to be investigated and a possible recall be considered.

The vehicle was pulled over to the shoulder for a while, but was able to restart. After the failure, the power steering, power assist, and check engine indicators illuminated. The contact stated that after the vehicle underwent an oil change in November, the engine failed multiple times. The vehicle was driven to webb Ford (9809 indianapolis blvd, highland, in 46322, (219) 924-3400) where it was diagnosed that a computer upgrade was needed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 14,356. The VIN was unknown.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Escape. While driving approximately 35-45 mph on several occasions, the engine fault service warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to restart the vehicle, but the failure recurred 5-10 minutes later. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer to be diagnosed. The contact used a diagnostic trouble code reader to perform a diagnostic test on the vehicle, which resulted in code: P2111 regarding the throttle body. The vehicle was not repaired. Champion Ford Lincoln (located at 140 southtown blvd, owensboro, ky 42303, (270) 684-1441) was notified via telephone of the failure. The failure was intermittent. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 85,700.
