gas mileage is terrible it does not get any where near the s

since the day i purchased this vehicle the gas mileage is below par. The dealer told me to wait until 5000 miles and it will be better. I now have 5785 miles and it is not better. I have a list of every fill up since i purchased this vehicle showing the true mileage. i can submit the list if necessary
