Engine light on. Had it read at local auto parts story. Code read misfire of sparkplugs? Tried to make appt at usual place, too booked. Went to local FORD dealership. Waited 2 and half hours for the diagnostic that said, coolant had leaked into engine blocked and cracked it. They removed spark coil to see that. ? No warning through all times serviced in 3 years at place bought car. Was told at dealership, oil changes, added fluids as recommended, they do not "look" for troubles like this. THEN I see website about all the troubles with ESCAPES .... Only got 3 years on this car--Over mileage dealership says for any sort of compensation, help with repair of new engine..YES, they quoted me 7,000.00 (Seven Thousand) dollars to repair. Said car would probably only worth 10,000???

WHY didn't place I bought warn me? Why is 3 years okay for a vehicle to last when you do all the right things,-etc to maintain it. I get the "Machines break"... message and that I did not do anything wrong.

What happened to quality control FORD?? May not ever buy a FORD product again....

Escape ES 1.5L

Our Ford Escape has been maintained since it came off the show room floor…. This problem arose after I received an oil change on February 14th 2024… The engine light came on within 24 hours of oil change….. we popped the hood and saw that there was very little coolant in the reservoir! From that point, we monitored it and did research on the web to see what might be causing this issue…. After the car set over the weekend, started it on Tuesday and White started rolling out the exhaust pipes. The coolant line went all the way to the right on gauge… This is an unbelievable, unexpected issue. We’re not even sure how to proceed.! Our understanding is that there is a significant issue with cooling system in the 2018 Ford escapes why isn’t there a recall in place to take care of this issue by Ford and not the consumer? Could someone please inform us on how to move forward with this issue, We would appreciate any and all feedback!
