Escape

  • Automatic transmission
  • 70,000 miles

This was our first problem. Not the last. The second engine block repair was not repaired and we moved out of state before we got our vehicle back and when we had it hauled to us it still has engine light on and does exactly what it was doing when we dropped it off. The only difference is we paid over 2500 out of pocket and my extended warranty coverage company paid around 10,000. So they made out and I got the shaft.

Escape

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,000 miles

In 2024 my 2019 Ford Escape started skipping and sputtering. I took it to a an Autozone and they checked it and said spark plugs were misfiring. So we took it to a mechanic who tried to fix it but did not have a special tool needed for that particular car to change one of the plugs. I paid 100 for his service. We then went to another mechanic who did several things but it still did not help. I paid several hundred there. We at that point took it to the ford dealer who said coolant was getting into spark plugs and it needed engine work. I had extended warranty coverage but I had gone online to see if anyone had this trouble. There were numerous places and I found where there was an extended coverage because of a known defect. The dealership said my car did not qualify so I contacted my insurance company. They refused coverage because of this saying it was a ford issue due to manufacturing.

Ford then supposedly fixed it. This year 2026 it did the same thing. We took it back and ford refused to fix it saying it was past the warranty. When I put my vin number in online to check about it being one of the cars with trouble it would say not covered or something like that because it was supposedly repaired. I once again had to go through my extended warranty company. After almost a month I finally got partial approval to get work done. I was told I needed a full engine block replacement but my coverage would only agree to do a short block. Ford took another week to repair and came up with 2 more things they said needed replacing as well as a new battery. I ended up paying around 2500 out of my pocket. In all this process we were moving out of state so we had to hire someone to transport the car to us when finished. We received it yesterday and it runs like it did when we took it in and check engine light is still on. I don’t know what to do.

Escape Limited 2.0L Ecoboost

  • Automatic transmission
  • 36,473 miles

2019 Ford Escape Limited 2.0L Ecoboost - 36,478 miles, out of warranty due to time. No financial assistance form Ford Good Will Program even though I am a loyal Ford Customer (owned 2005, 2008, 2010, 2017, and now 2019 Ford Escape Limited), low miles, and have all maintenance records. The excuse for not providing funding was - "it is proprietary".

Only solution was to replace long engine block per Technical Service Bulletin with my own money - no responsibility from Ford even though it was their design that caused this according to the Ford Technician: "Kelly, I asked the technician about the new engine vs the original. He replied, THE OLD BLOCK HAS A SAW CUT IN BETWEEN THE CYLINDERS FOR COOLANT FLOW. AND THE NEW ONE THAT SPACE IN FILLED AND HAS A DRILLED HOLE FOR COOLANT FLOW INSTEAD. SO THE NEW BLOCK HAS MORE MATERIAL IN BETWEEN THE CYLINDERS FOR RIGIDITY. AND THE CYLINDER HEAD IS MACHINED TO MATCH. YOU SHOULD NOT EXPERIENCE THE COOLANT INTRUSION WITH THE REDESIGN."

Escape SE 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 44,029 miles

In December 2024 I purchase this 2019 Ford Escape SE. I paid 19,000 of my hard earned money for this car. Starting around the middle of January 2025 the engine light starting coming and I used to obd code reader and my codes read P0301 P0301BD. Which meant a cylinder one mis-fire. This continued coming on at least 5 or 6 times in January 2025. I decided to take it in for repairs; changed my mind when I found out the cost. I just been keep and eye on. After a few months I decided to have the spark plugs and ignition coil to see if that would fix the engine light problem; but it did not. During my last oil change this past May 2025, it was found that I needed to have a compression test to see if I had anti-freeze leak. But the test was never done due to money matters. I came across this site and decided to be apart of this lawsuit.
