We received an IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL in June of last year (2023). The engine could fail, spewing oil with imminent fire danger. The "fix" was estimated to be available by October 2023. We have kept in contact with our Ford service manager, where we purchased the car & they still do not have any word about how to fix this or what parts to use. The last Ford recall for this car was a haphazard fix of drilling holes to let oil drain safely!? We are very concerned about driving our car with this possible break down & fire & this is our only vehicle. Please help us come to a satisfactory resolution for this safety problem. Safety Recall Notice 23S27/NHTSA Recall 23V380. Thank You!

This recall is very serious, I do not feel safe driving my car as it could explode and kill me, and or others. No eta on a serious recall, even though I am being forced to pay for repairs, and possibly cause more damage to my engine for this serious recall.

I purchased the vehicle brand new in February 2020 and it has had persistent battery/electrical issues. In May 2022 the battery was malfunctioning and I was driving it to the dealership to be examined and it completely died while I was driving. The electrical system failed while I was driving. I have had the battery replaced at least 3 times in less than 4 years and, despite the battery being replaced less than a year ago, it needs to be replaced again. Ford is not willing to cover the replacement battery despite it being less than 1 year ago. Ford is not standing by their vehicle and refusing to accommodate the repeated battery issues, including catastrophic failure while driving.

For NHTSA recall, 23V80, Ford has NOT provide a resolution to this recall from June 2023. I am sending in this complaint as Ford indicated in June 2023 letter to contact the Hotline if a repair is not provided in a reasonable timeline. As of 1/8/2024 there is no repair available. In addition, a loaner until the repair is completed is not available.

Nothing has yet happened, however, Ford sent a recall notice regarding premature engine failure in May 2023. The recall (NHTSA recall 23V380) stated that they anticipated a solution by October 2023, but they have no solution still. I don't know what the nature of the defect is, but I did not anticipate waiting more than 8 months for a solution on something that could cause the engine to set on fire. This vehicle is a daily driver for us, and we'd like to take it on a road trip this summer, but the combination of heat and unknown engine risk makes me not want to risk it.

Recall 23S27 has no remedy available since May 2023, and Ford has not made any reasonable attempt to repair the engine that they say may catch on fire due to failure. Originally promised a fix announcement by October 2023, that has since come and went, then they said November and it's now December 24, 2023 and there's no fix for this issue. The previous related recall to increase ventilation did not work, nor does it address the defective engine block or other lubricated components that caused block breaches and subsequent fires. Why is Ford allowed to not fix this issue in a timely manner? I rely on this vehicle for family transportation and knowing that they have yet to come out with a repair means they are willfully risking the lives of their customers over the cost of repairing or replacing the engines with components that aren't defective.

2020 Ford Escape hybrid titanium: Complete electrical shut down of every electrical component, all interior/exterior systems inoperable, including inability to start engine. Manual key required to open door. Initial attempts to jump start do not work - takes numerous attempts to jump start until car by chance -??wakes up-??. Battery charging will not help and low charge on starter batter is not the issue. Parking brake release not possible for towing since no electrical to release parking brake. Car is not equipped to manually disengage parking brake - contrary to what is written in manual. Therefore is a problem for towing company if they do not have dolly's to place on flat bed. Software update is required at dealership to solve issue. In the meantime, you can get seriously stranded with a dead car. Also far too many recalls placing ever going time consuming burden on owners to deals with problems after shipping from the manufacturer.
