when I am braking while slowing down on an offramp, the brakes will disengage, then hurry and reengaged. its only for a split second, but very scarry, this has happened 3 times. Then a few nights ago I was slowing down and had my foot on the brake very lightly, and the brakes caught and about threw me throw the windshield. I contacted ford and they told me that since they cannot get it to duplicate it, they won't do anything for me.

Purchased the SUV March 4, 2023. Within the first couple of days, when coming to a stop, backing out, slowing down the brakes makes this horrendous sound. Took it into the dealership and learned of the tsb of the rotors and brakes. They also changed my oil without my permission. Upon getting my SUV back within 2 days it continues with that horrendous noise backing out, slowing down, coming to a stop and stopping. Took it back again and they changed a rotor. The service department is closed on the weekends. Immediately upon getting my vehicle it does it again, but it was a Friday. This time, I take my SUV into the dealership and explain what it's doing. They have a tech take a ride. It makes a faint noise, of course, but he heard it. Now my vehicle the brakes are squealing so loud that you would think I would need new brake pads. My vehicle goes back into the dealership for the 3rd time on Thursday! The service department is absolutely clueless on how to fix this issue! Absolutely clueless!

After having my car for 6 months it began making a terrible noise first thing in the morning when I back out and apply the brakes. It is a bad groaning/moaning noise. When I took it in for service to the dealer they said they could not replicate the problem. The noise continued and I took it again for its regular scheduled maintenance and was again told they could not replicate the noise and that they checked the brakes and everything is fine. It is not fine...I am waiting to the brakes to fail it sounds so bad.

The right rear brake area screeches loudly when I back up, even if I am not applying the brake. It happens at different times of the day, not just when I start the car. I have taken it in to be repaired twice and they tell me this is normal because the brakes charge the battery and this is the design. They said it happens when the brakes are wet in the morning. I park my car in the garage and every morning it screeches and does not appear to be a moisture issue. My car is new and began happening shortly after I brought it home. I think I am going to call and insist they replace them, as they are not able to repair them. I am concerned there is something wrong. Also, I don't use the adaptive cruise control, as it has accelerated and frightened me, as it tends to act on its own and may go over the speed limit. When I brake it will turn off, I just don't trust it. I think the controls aren't like other speed controls I have used and I maybe not be used to using them. I'm not sure. I had to put a tint on the front windows and a strip on the top of the windshield because it was clear and the sun came in so bright and would reflect off the dash, I was unable to see. The windshield is close to the steering wheel. When I bought the car the hood and door on the driver's side were not properly aligned. Again, they said this is normal. I had to have them repaired. I have never had so many problems with a new car. I am going to try to get the brakes fixed somehow and get something else.

Since purchase, the car has made a loud squealing noise when applying brakes in reverse. Seems to take longer to come to a stop at times when applying brakes but other times jerks to a stop.

On November 12, 2022 at approximately 1:00 p.m. an incident occurred with my 2022 Ford Escape Hybrid in Columbia, MO. As I was parking in the Forum Theater parking lot, the engine surged and I had no brakes. I was at a dead stop and when I released the brake to move into a parking slot, the engine surged abruptly. When I applied the brakes, the pedal went clear to the floor with no braking occurring. I absolutely did not hit the wrong peddle causing this surging of power. As a result, the Escape jumped a curb and ran into a tree doing $14,000 damage. The airbags did not deploy nor did the seatbelts lock with the result of my granddaughters and I being thrust sharply forward. Currently the dealer, Moberly Motor Company has no plans to notify Ford of this incident. The $14,000 repair bill is being borne by my insurance, Shelter Insurance. I have written Ford Consumer Relations but to date I have not had a response. My granddaughters and I were blessed that we were not physically injured seriously. However, we are all three having emotional/mental issues from the wreck. The only warning I had was the brakes squealed when I backed out of a parking place prior to the event. The vehicle is currently at Moberly Motor Company in Moberly, MO awaiting parts for repair.

There is an issue with the brakes and brake dust covers the wheel. The brakes have been squealing when pressed since the vehicle was leased. Each time I inquired at the dealership I was told it was because the brakes were new. Since they brakes continued to squeal after months, I asked service to look at them for me. They did, and said everything looked fine. As of now the front driver side wheel is completely covered in a black substance. Possibly brake dust and the brakes still squeal. I am concerned about the safety of my brakes. I took photos and sent them to my dealership today. This has been on ongoing problem since day one.

Extreme brake dust on both front wheels / rims. Concerned that brake pad friction lining was manufactured incorrectly, and worried about possible brake fade. Currently 4,800 miles on vehicle.

The overall braking performance on my new Escape has left me very concerned about the safety and dependability of my brakes. The brakes are unreasonably loud and down right startling, especially at low speeds. They often times feel, react, and sound as if they are wet; even when they are bone dry. My brakes will often times stop the vehicle abruptly and feel too grabby while making a loud noise. The brakes are also producing an excessive amount of brake dust on the wheels. I had my vehicle checked out by a Ford dealer, and they confirmed this is "normal" for this type of vehicle and that no fix is currently available. A simple internet search revealed many others who are experiencing the same problem. Something is really not right here.
