While driving the right rear tire blew out, Firestone dealer stated the tire blew out because of a manufacturers defect and replaced the tire, this occured before the problem became public knowledge (Firestone steeltex at 265-75R16). Nlm

About 2 weeks later, consumer received recall notice from Bridgestone/Firestone. Took vehicle to reliable tire shop "sts, " and was told that indeed that all 5 tires were part of recall. Consumer was driving around on recall tires for about 3-4 weeks, endangering her life/ family and others on the road because of dealer who lied to her about the tires.
