I have not had a problem yet. My friend, richard joplin (2730 West oaks blvd, pearland, tx 77584 281-412-2358) has the same truck with the same tires. He had a tire come apart with tread separation. I will now have to replace my Firestone steeltex tires for the safety of myself and my family. (dot number: ? tiresize: 265/75rx16)

PE00 020; consumer was inspecting vehicle and noticed that all four tires had a funny color. He has contacted Firestone, and the attendant told him that the 16inch tire was not on recall. Firestone wilderness steel tex 16inch. There were no injuries.

PE 00 040/tire failure: Left front tire experienced a blowout while traveling 15-20 mph at a 95-100 degree, with driver only in a 2000 Ford, Excursion, original equipment, R4S, tire size LT265/75R16, and dot# vnw81xy359. Dealer notified, and replaced the tire. But, refused to let consumer keep the tire.

Consumer took new Ford, Explorer 2000 with P23575R15, dot vdhl tires to warnock Ford in morristown, NJ to inspect the tires, and was told that all 5 tires were not part of recall and were okay. About 2 weeks later, consumer received recall notice from Bridgestone/Firestone. Took vehicle to reliable tire shop "sts, " and was told that indeed that all 5 tires were part of recall. Consumer was driving around on recall tires for about 3-4 weeks, endangering her life/ family and others on the road because of dealer who lied to her about the tires.
