I have a problem trying to figure out why my heater is not working i put it on 90 degrees and it doesn't even come out that hot. I really cant figure out what it could be if you have any suggestions please let me know. I really do not want to take it into a shop if i dont have to. If i do not get it figured out I will be trading this crap in for a better vehicle like a Chevy. Although it still runs good I have kids and cant afford for them to get sick or freeze.

When heat is on hot air is only coming in the back, in the front is only cold air, the van is working but no hot air is coming out, my legs and hands are freezing.

When the heat is on it blows cold through the front vents, but warm in the rear. Same with the A/C...just hot air up front and cold in the back. In order to keep my 6-month-old from either freezing or sweltering, I have to either freeze or practically melt up front. It's ridiculous.

The heat and air in my 1999 Ford expedition has really been an awful inconvenience. When the heat is on in the winter, cold air blows out the front vents which leads to my kids and freezing..it takes about 20 minutes for the heat from the back vents to help heat up the truck but by that time the kids are still in their coats and gloves but already at school...it's vice versa in the summer, hot air blows out the front vents and cold air out the back, so I usually don't bother to turn on the air because the heat that blows out into your face is just unbearable, especially here in Florida...would rather deal with natural heat from the windows being down. Have been told that the repair cost would be around $900 to fix. This is obviously an issue in which Ford should have done a recall.

This past summer the a/c wouldn't cool if the car was parked in the hot sun. We noticed if we had parked in our garage or in the shade, it would work ok. This winter cold air blows through the front vents & defroster; heat does come out at the top (ceiling) vents. Ford dealership wants over $800 to fix... the part costs only $40 but the labor is high b/c of where the problem is - they think it is a valve- & they have to remove the whole dash board. (I thought these guys were paid by the hour, not the job.) BRRRR it sure is cold!
