Love the vehicle, but I don't think this should have evr happened. I live in a pretty temperate climate, so there is very little reason for corrosion. I baby this vehicle as far as keeping it clean underneath when there is the possiblity of road salt getting any corrosion started. No excuse for the rear suspension components to corrode to the point of a total breakdown in just over 10 years time.
This was found while on the rack at the Ford dealer. They had seen this problem quite a bit but the manufacturer was not helping with the expense. The dealer did say to keep receipts in case Ford does have a recall and to check back on occasion about it.

We have had all the other problems with the air ride. Replaced compressor 2009 , repaired air line 2010 , just had accuators replaced at fuccilo ford in Adams NY. The incompetant idiot mechanics broke the brake lines in the process. About a month went by and last night my daughter got home (after driving the car all week-end with her friends), About an hour after she got home , we heard an explosion that we thought was a close lightning strike. Well in the morning we saw the ass end sitting low and the remains of both shock bags were scattered around the drive way. If my daughter was driving this explosion would certainly launched the vehicle into the air. What do you think , law suit or what? Signed Never buy another F%x# n Ford Again.

Purchased this vehicle in July from a private sale, and was unaware that the former 'car dealer' had taken it upon himself to sand down & paint over the rusted Rear stabilizer Rods making them appear as new, which resulted in rotting holes that I was able to stick my fingers through. I wish I would've been smart enough to bang the bars with a hammer before I purchased this vehicle.
In the end these small metal rods (4 total & only available at a Ford dealership) cost me about $876.00 total. That not including the labor.
