Expedition Eddie Bauer 5.4L V8

I bought this truck used from a dealer in Fall River about 4 months ago (FEB 2013). At first little things seemed really odd about the truck. Like the odometer flickered, door ajar warning light and dome lights would stay on when there were no doors open. That in turn killed my battery. After I replaced the battery the door ajar problem didn't happen again until recently but only once. Now, last night I tried to roll up my driver side window and all I hear is this clicking noise coming from the relay under the dashboard. Since all three relays are the same I switched that one out for another one to see if that worked before buying a new one.....it didn't. It just still makes that clicking noise. So now my window is stuck down but the rest of the windows work just fine. I have two days to get it back up because it's gonna rain! Ahhhh....so annoying! Also, since I bought the truck I have been smelling this electrical burning smell. Although nothing has caught on fire, it still worries me that it could some day. I don't have money to take it to a dealer or a mechanic to try and figure it out so I am just gonna have to troubleshoot myself. I will update if I find a resolution. PS....I am 31 yrs old and have owned over 35 cars...this is my first Ford and I always told myself I hate Fords and would never own one....so this is my punishment!

I have searched the internet to see what could possibly be wrong with my vehicle. I came across this site and bam, I found it. My regulator is out in my Ford Expedition. I was mighty surprised at how many complaints there have been. I heard a huge pop and then the window went all the way down. So far down I couldn't even touch it to lift it back up. The temperature is -15 without the windchill. It is freezing with the window down and not to mention I have 3 small children to transport. I did get it in today to a very nice auto body shop. They were able to take the door apart and get my window back up and have taped it at the bottom to keep it up. This is the temporary fix until the regulator comes in stock. They quoted me $45 for the part and said they would do the labor for $35. I am very impressed by him especially after reading how many people have spent over $400 to fix from a dealer.

I guess my advice is since clearly Ford doesn't care it to try an auto body shop and see if they are as cheap as the one I found.

Ford service depts are horrible, They are nothing but parts changers, I wonder how Ford stayes in business. They replaced every component in the system before finding problem, switch, relay, fuse box, lubed window, and this is all after I told them what the problem was according to another ford dealer. Horrible experience and loss of time.
