About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
We had excessive brake dust and then at 29,000 miles when we would turn right it began squeeking. We took it to the dealer and they stated we needed brake pads (first time changing and they were not even to the metal clip) and that the rotors needed to be replaced because they were wore down below the saftey level. Dealer made many excuses like tire size, rims (they sale exact rims at dealer) and finally stated they did not know. When contacting Ford customer care rep stated that it is too soon to change but that the regional manager said it is maintance issue and that we must pay for them. They state that technical bulletin (which they have on pads and rotors) are not recalls so even if they know they have a problem the consumer has to pay the price until they are forced to do an official recall. This is unfair and needs to be changed!!!!!!
