Expedition XLT FX4 5.4L

Another problem...another crunch to the pocket!! When placed in A4WD mode, the vehicle shakes and makes loud scraping noises when taking off. Noticeable slipping as if the transmission is giving out. But when placed into 2WD mode, everything is normal. What is going on?????
