Sold vehicle in 2014 due to severe oxidation and paint bubbling on aluminum hood and tailgate.
- Andre L., Suffield, CT, US
The aluminum hood is showing blisters along the front edge similar to those that I have seen on other web sites.

I never noticed it until later this summer. The vehicle had been garaged during most of its life in a area of the country that never has rust. I am not sure if it is rust as I don't want to peel or break the bubbles away to make it even more noticeable. The bubbles are right around the license plate of the rear hatch. The vehicle is a complete workhorse and I won't have too many complaints of the vehicle as others have.

2004 Ford Expedition - Paint bubbles on hood and tail gate. Has been developing for years, getting worse. Wife was hit recently, at shop we asked if they could fix the bubbling issues while doing other repairs. Shop told us that they've seen this issue over and over on Expeditions and that we should contact Dealer to see if they would cover the costs. Started studying the issue and realizing that the issue appears to VERY widespread. Curious whether anyone has a solution to having Ford cover the repairs. Also curious whether is any progress on class action suit here? This is clearly a recall-type item!
