Check engine light came on so I had the vechicle tuned up which did not stop the problem ($800.00), I then had a computer scan done by a local parters dealer and was told I needed to replace three (3) coil packs at $75.00 each which did not fix the problem. I then went to a local Ford dealer and had them do a computer scan under with the engine under stress which showed the timing chain was bad. It is in the repair shop now being repaired at the cost of $2600.00, I hope this solves the problem, I was told by the service adviser that they have had a lot of problems like this on 2005 and later Ford Expeditions. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this fixes the problem and nothing else happens, My wife is not a happy camper!

This sucks. Just spent 3K on a new transmission last year and now I get news of this. Had the engine light code scanned and was told it "may" be a timing chain issue. The mechanic said he can hear the chain issue by listening to the engine as well. Sucks! This Ford has been nothing but issues for me since the start.
