While leaving a restaurant on Saturday, I started my truck, pulled out of the parking space and the vehicle just completely shut down. I tried restarting, but got nothing. We had to have to it towed (twice) to the tune of over $100. We found a mechanic to come to our house and assess the problem, and discovered that it was the fuel pump. I had checked this site earlier this week and read the reports of connections melting, and sure enough that is what happened to my Expedition.

Thank goodness we were in a parking lot and this didn't happen while I was taking my daughter to work on Interstate 4. Its also a little unnerving to know that this problem could cause a potential fatality. I'm shocked that Ford has not issued a recall for this particular problem.

Just as everyone else that I have found to complain about this issue, my car came to a sudden stop while I was driving with my two kids. Lucky the car behind me was able to avoid hitting us or I am not sure we would be here today. Everyone that I had look at it it seems to think its a failed fuel pump. I sent an email to Ford about it and they just sent me their apologies. Today Ford recalled over 500,000 vehicles with the same issue that I have, but they are not 2007 models. They explain the same fuel pump failure issues that I have, but they refuse to do anything for me because I am not a part of the recall. I will be calling them as much as I can until the do something about my issue.

Replaced the fuel pump on my Ford Expedition EL. We were going shopping with the family and in laws in the car. On the main road while driving the car started to hesitate and seemed like it would stop then about a minute later the car died. There was enough fuel in the car (above 1/4 tank) but the care would not start. The Starter and Alternator were fine. Also checked the line and fuses, they were good. After waiting for help about 10 minutes, tried to start the car it started and drove home dropped of the family about 5 miles. After that while driving to the auto shop the car died again and would not start at all, so had to get it towed to the auto shop.

The mechanic check the car out and found out it was the fuel tank. We went to the Ford dealer got the fuel pump and the got it changed by our mechanic. The mechanic gave the old fuel pump back because the old one had the connections melted where the plastic wire entered the fuel pump, and there was burned discoloration. The mechanic mentioned that we were lucky because it was very dangerous when the problem started, and the fuel pump could have burned and blown up and it could have been fatal. I am checking on this as there should have been a recall notice from Ford on this.

Just filled the tank before work at 8 am, then headed home about 4:15 pm. Going up a hill all of a sudden lost power, heard a "thunk" noise and RPMs shot up. Power came back for a minute or two and then all of it repeated. Called my husband on my cell and said "I think the car's dying" and it did about 5 minutes later. Oil light came on and power steering left me; I made it to the side of the road but not in a very safe place.

My husband came with his flat bed trailer, and the next day brought it to the Ford dealer where I bought it. They called me that afternoon and said it would be $340 for labor and $472 for the pump...$812 total. Ouch!! Said they would need to siphon off all the gas I'd just bought to be able to lift the gas tank to get to the pump; apparently this is not a pretty fix for the guys in the shop. Pump had to be ordered and may or may not be here today, if it is, I may or may not get the car back tonight...or maybe tomorrow morning. I love Expeditions - this is my third - but holy cow when something breaks, you better have a full wallet.

Replaced the fuel pump on my daughter's Expedition. She had just filled the tank with my two grandchildren in the car. It would not start, had to call for a tow truck. He checked the line and fuses, all were good. He than hit on the bottom of the fuel tank, it would run than stop. He towed the 2007 Expedition for her, we changed the pump out. The old one had melted the plastic where the wire entered the pump, with discoloration . My grandchildren were strapped in when the problem stated, that is very dangerous and could have been fatal in case of fire.

This not good, me & my wife just came from Kemah on Easter Sunday and thank God we made it back off the highway. About time we got 5 minutes from home the truck just cut off, I thought we were out of gas, but we had 1/4 of a tank . We pulled over & received help to push it out the streets. Checked the battery voltage and it was good, 12v & check the fuses, all good. So we had to have it towed home & the the next day to the shop.

The shop was good & located the problem, guess what, it was the fuel pump & switch. Ford knows there is a problem, but won't own up to it. The parts of the pump had melted and could have put me & my wife life in danger or killed us. Or just think if my grand kids would have been in the car with us in the baby car seats.

This is just the right car, made by American people. Even though it was under warranty they still got the $300.00 deductible plus I had to pay for the injection cleaning & a new fuel filter, but they covered the pump & switch. The inspector didn't even care for our life. The shop mechanics were

very honest and nice and they gave the the part back and stated to me to try to demand my money back on this because Ford knows there is a problem but won't come clean.

On July 13, 2013 my Ford Expedition EL went dead as driving down the road. I had it towed to the local Ford Dealership (where we have bought 4 vehicles since 2004). I was told that it was the fuel pump. The service manager and myself cannot find the replacement part anywhere (national or international). It is on a back-order until...not even given a date. I cannot believe this and when I tell people in my community why I am STILL driving a rental...they think that is totally insane. As of right now, I will owe over $2000 for the rental car, which I cannot live without. Ford needs to address this problem and compensate their customers for the costs incurred due to their lack of solution. I will NOT buy another Ford if this company does not show quality service to their customers. I have not even had a return phone call from the customer service representative. Shame on them. Do they care about service or just sales?

My two children and I were leaving the park. I started the expedition, it started as normal but immediately lost rpm's, shook and died. It would turn over but would not start. Had it towed to the dealership who stated it was the fuel pump, which is on national back order and they have no idea when the problem will be fixed with the fuel pumps - apparently there is a problem and they (manufacturer) have stopped producing them to come up with a solution.

I think ford should give me another vehicle to drive while my expedition is down. I also feel that ford should issue a recall on the fuel pumps/systems once they have the problem resolved.

Vehicle parked when fuel pump failed. Wouldn't start so had it towed to shop and the diag was fuel pump failure. Shop was unable to locate a replacement. Anywhere. The manufacturer quit making the part and back orders won't begin to be filled until 9/2013. They even tried a salvage search and nothing turned up. Stranded without transportation as this is my only car.

This apparently a known issue with Ford and the company seems to be ignoring the issue entirely as far as consumers can tell. I have not begun to try to get answers and support from Ford but from reading how others are treated, I'm not hopeful.

On Saturday June 8th 2013 while driving home from a graduation going 60 miles per hour on the highway the engine cut off and died. I coasted onto the feeder then my husband, 3kids and 2 strangers pushed it into a parking lot. (my elderly parents were also in the car).

I had it towed to the shop on Monday, June 10th 2013 and they told me it was the fuel pump and it was on National back order and the pump would not be available until August 4th 2013. The local Ford dealer as well as corporate would not give me a car. My warranty only covers 8days of a rental. What am I supposed to do until August 4th (at least) without a car. It is not my fault the fuel pump went out. It is not my fault the part is not ready. Ford should be giving me a rental until mine is ready. August 4th is the whole summer. What about summer camps, vacation, fun things to do....heck I can't even go to the grocery store.

Oh also my service guy told me is was not just the Expedition EL. He said fuel pumps for the Taurus and Explorer are also on national back order.

It seems to me this might be a recall and Ford wants to keep it quiet so they don't have to recall it and give everyone a fuel pump for fee.

I also contacted my local news stations about this issue.

Fuel pump went out on our 2007 Ford Expedition in early June 2013. We have been told that there is a back order on the fuel pump until Sept.2013. We have contacted Ford and have been told that there is nothing they will do for us, and our local dealership wants us to buy another vehicle. Our Expedition is the only vehicle that holds the whole family. We have 4 children with a 5th on the way. Not only is it an inconvenience to haul everyone around, we will also have to cancel our summer vacation. We cannot afford another car payment and a summer getaway, and it seems crazy to drive 2 vehicles to get anywhere. We are not happy with Ford and would like everyone that this has happened to to send as many complaints as possible. We believe there should be a recall for this issue!

Two weeks ago driving 55 on the highway, the car just shuts off. Come to find out the fuel pump melted and I need a new one. If only I could find one???? No one on God's green earth seem to have any. Ford doesn't even have any. It will be August before they have any. What the heck is going on? It is a fuel pump!!

I am so mad that nobody at Campbell Fords or even the headquarters seem to care that we have been without a vehicle for over two weeks and there is no end in sight. I drive a big truck for a reason! We have a big family.

Very unimpressed with Ford and their unwillingness to find us a part faster. Won't be buying another Ford.
