Winter 2019, passenger side door would not stay closed. Appears to only happen when temperatures are below freezing. Started to happen on drivers side a day later. I've noticed water inside on the sill plate of the vehicle after it rains. I suspect water is making it's way into the door. The issue has returned. Tried to get warranty repairs from original dealership but has gone unanswered. Appears this is a know issue and repairs are covered by an extended warranty. Which I did not get. Working with BBB and Ford corporate on that issue. The passenger door was not fixed either.

Aluminum lift gate paint is cracking and peeling simiar to all other years of Expedition. Previous and post years continue to have the same issue. Not a fluke or one off in paint preparation defects.

On 8/21/17, the latching back window of our 2011 Ford Expedition blew out while my husband was parking on a private lot. We did not hit anything, and the glass blew out, not in. Fortunately no one was in the path of the flying glass. Ford refuses to reimburse us for its replacement.

The paint finish on the rear liftgate has several "bubbling" areas and has started to flake off in several areas. This issue was first noticed when the vehicle was less than 5 years old. There has never been any physical damage to this area nor has it been repainted. I have researched online and discovered that this was due to a contaminant at the paint facility for these vehicles at the time, is a very common problem for these model years, and that Ford refuses to take responsibility or issue a recall to have this issue repaired. When I contacted Ford about the issue, they recommended I submit a complaint with your Agency.

Visible corrosion and bubbling paint on aluminum rear lift gate
- Clarksville, MD, USA
Paint blistering/bubbling on aluminum hood and tailgate, Ford repainted saying it was totally repairable. Six months later it is back.

When washing my vehicle, I notice on the back door (the back end of the vehicle) paint missing. It is right where the handle to open the door. I can see the white material under the paint.. it is like it peeled right off or flaked off. This is in a couple other spots around the handle. I am looking for a recall but have not been sent one. Very disappointing.

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that when the rear driver side door was ajar, the retractable running boards retracted and caused a passenger's foot to be cut by the running boards. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer, the manufacturer was not contacted and the vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 17,000 and the current mileage was 18,000.
