We encountered a similar screen problem. Without warning, the touch screen blanked out. When starting the car, the screen goes into Night mode during boot up, then returns to Day mode. However, the available options no longer indicate the GPS as even existing. We recently, within the last two weeks, had the Sync update and update to the GPS Maps done. The dealership thinks the computer module is the problem, but hasn't confirmed it yet. The vehicle has the Extended Warranty program, which is the closest to a Bumper-to-Bumper we could get. I will be highly upset if the Warranty vendors say it is not covered, since this system is standard on the Platinum model. More to come...

The touch screen started working intermittently since April -- if I turn the vehicle off, it usually works the next time. Now the touch screen is not responding or is staying in the night mode color and not responding. I can't use the navigation, the iPhone Bluetooth (I like to listen to audible books from my iPhone) and even resetting the iPhone with the vehicle hasn't made it any better. I am now using my iPhone for navigation (this is a King Ranch Expedition EL that I purchased brand new) and I can't believe that this does not work -- there's no way around the touch screen to get any of the audio, phone or navigation to do what it should. I have contacted my dealer -- still waiting on a response. When I google the issue it says to get the software updated -- well, I am wondering if they know this -- why did they not send a notice to the owner(s) of these vehicles with the issues? Anyway, maybe I can update this when/if there is a solution. For now, I am using my iPhone to do my navigation which seems ridiculous after paying this much for a vehicle -- and I keep it serviced properly. :(

Got in my 2017 Ford Expedition (45,000+ Miles), and notice the Screen for backup camera/radio/clock was blank except for a swirling arrow that kept flashing LOADING. Drove a 6 hour trip and it still says LOADING. Made appointment at All Star Ford dealership in Pittsburg, CA. Service called and said it is the module that needs to be replaced, but no one has them and it is NOT covered under warranty or extended service contract.
He also told me that there are no modules available due to Covid-19. I feel the camera is a safety issue. My vehicle has been in the dealership 2 weeks. This is the vehicle I use to tow a travel trailer with which now has a none working backup camera and still camping weather, but all is useless because they have the vehicle torn apart and in their possession waiting for god knows how long to get a part (if that is really the problem).
