Expedition Limited 3.5L Ecoboost

Found that the rear window exploded on a very nice cool day about 65 degrees. Mostly cloudy with no rain. Glass was visible mostly on the driveway outside the vehicle in all directions. Sum pieces did fall inside the vehicle but the majority was 4-5 feet from the vehicle the entire width of the bumper. Smaller pieces of glass were found as much as 10 feet behind the vehicle.

Rear hatch glass exploded in front of me. I was 10ft away from the car and had not yet used it that morning. The falling glass damaged the paint and the trim on the rear hatch. $2000 damage to the door plus $800 for the glass. Could have shattered on top of me or my children if the hatch door was up and we were under. This is a safety issue and Ford should recall this issue. I called Ford and they would not help me after 20000km. This seems to be a common problem and Ford needs to deal with it. There is a lot of stress exerted on this glass because of the shocks and hinges holding it in place.
