Explorer 4.0L V6

  • Manual transmission
  • 185,000 miles

on start up it will shutter and try to run roughly from anywhere between 2-10 seconds then dies. Sometimes it will do this a few times before starting and running normally for several months before doing it again. Or it will die while driving, but not a sudden death, it will slowly lose power as if its winding down. The indicator lights don't come on and there no loss of power steering until it winds completely down and then dies. I don't recall it ever doing it on a cold start up, only after it has run and heated up. I changed the fuel pump and IAC valve to no avail. I was told it could be the canister purge solenoid, or the canister itself.

I Drive My Car For Either A Long Ride Or Start It Certain # Of Times While Warm. Nothing Wrong While Cold, BuT While Its Warm, You Start It, And It Stays For A Short Second And Dies. Start Again Same Thing. Start Again, Same F*%!($ Thing. It Gets To The Point Where I Have To Drive It With 2 Feet To Keep It From Cutting Off At A Stop, Or Wait Until The dam Thing Cools Completely Down, Which Takes Hours. Ohh And THEN, If I Drive It With 2 Feet For A While And Put In Park and Step On The Gas, Weeeeee Its Running Normal Again. That Only Happens When It Wants To. My Truck Is Having A Period Its Making Me Want To Pull My Hair Out.
