ok i know things wear out, but after taking it in to my mechic, he tells me this is a very commom problem with these fords. i bought the suv used, so i am not sure if this has been a issue with it before or not,. but 250.00 just for the upper ball joint alone, not including having someone to replace it. then to replace the bottom ball joint its only 25.00. whats wrong with this picture. well let me share my opinion. why do you have to make things so difficult and costly to replace when you know they go out alot.??? don't you want people buying your product? and the wheel hub assembly...200.00 bucks... WTF FORD!!!

So 96 ford whole front suspension is terrible. The ball joints, hub wheel cap bearings, and sway bars all went bad at the same time. This not to mention in the same year my transmission, starter, and fuel pump was replaced. So in any case, the bearings to get fixed by a shop small or big is going to be around $800 plus. The ball joints are $500 for both. Just get a more reliable car. Save your hard earned money.
