This is so annoying!!! Not being able to get to the blend door to replace it is ridiculous!!! Here in Australia a new blend door from ford will cost $239. Then if I were to pay a mechanic to take out the dash it would cost a further $600....It's insane! Especially when the replacement is plastic, and sure to break again!!! Everything on this car fails it seems, all with an average cost of $800 to fix. Grrrr!!! I refuse to get it fixed through ford, I'm looking at heatertreater's solution....their replacement will cost me $175, and be substantially easier to fit (All currency in Australian dollars)

$800 to remove the dash to replace a part that was poorly designed to begin with. Ford already had a repair kit for this as it seems to be a common problem. The repair kit is beefier than the original part so this also tells me that Ford knows about this problem but wants to let the car owner pay for their shoddy design.
