Explorer 2 Door 4.0L V8 Sohc

OK ive only had this truck for half a year i bought it used it seemed like a really solid vehicle BUT one day i heard a reallllly bad wine/grinding from the back end of the car. It only happens when i let off the gas at 40mph and above and to get it to stop doing it I have to put it in neutral or step back on the gas. Can some one please help me with this it is getting quit annoying.

Never had a car with a shot rear differential. We currently have 147,000 miles, driving the vehicle for the last couple of years with the problem. It is time to unload or fix the noise in the rear. This problem has convince us NEVER to buy another FORD.
