Explorer 4.0

This is an obvious defect and should be made into a recall item. The crankshaft position sensor is DEFECTIVE, DEFECTIVE, DEFECTIVE.

WRITE FORD, YOUR CONGERSSMEN, THE STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL. THE SENSOR IS DEFECTIVE.

EMAIL ALL YOUR FRIENDS, FORD IS F*D UP AND SELLS ST TO THE CONSUMERS. THEY MAKE MONEY FROM MAKING REPAIRS ON DEFECTIVE S*T.

Explorer XLT

  • 50,000 miles

The Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKP) has failed once at 30,000 and once at 50,000 miles on my 1998 Ford Explorer. Had it towed to the dealer twice. Was fixed the first time under warranty, the second time was $1000. Ford would not fix it free the second time. How often can one part like this fail? My next car will not be Ford, that's for sure.
