I had engine tensioners done (all 3, engine pulled for a month) at 100,000 kilometers (drove to work,(1 mile) summer, and when went to leave engine sounded like hell) ( 60,000 miles) and at 140,153 klm the engine let go completely, throwing rod through side of block. It sounded at first like an exhaust failure close to engine, but being as I was alone and coming back from a vacation could not tell exactly. Oil changes always done, rear timing chain that drives oil pump failed. The truck had 140,000 kilometers, not miles, and I had to scrap truck as it would have cost another $5000 to fix. The interior of truck was perfect, not a mark considering the low mileage, was special ordered for my wife. I contacted Ford about this lack of quality and asked for just help with repair costs. I was refused, as most of you have been, all I wanted was help fixing truck, I never said what help, just some help. Water under bridge, my wife hates me for blowing up her truck, and I am not sure what other vehicle I can get that was as competent in servere weather as that Explorer was, most Jeeps are not
