Not absolutely sure what problem is, but believed to be rear differential. Leaking between back wheels at standstill. Lately, clunking, popping, other noises coming from front/ gas pedal/ and can feel it in the steering wheel when you gas, brake, stop, go, accelerate, etc. Almost like a clunk in the bottom of the steering wheel. Feels "not normal" for 4wd sport utility. Also squeels & the exhaust is loose. JUNK!

Well I see alot on here complaining about the rear diff an noises... Mine just shifts rather hard every time while down shifting or up shifting. Now my transfer case wire harness going to the solenoide decided to melt some wires forcing it into low range in a 50km zone . Hand someone manually put it back into 4high .. So you all are aware of a possible wiring issue. If not I just pointed it out. I'm not only stuck with having to replace a transfer case plus it's solenoid. Now I got the rear Differental leaking and shifting hard. More so when it's raining.. Hence bad wiring all thru the ford explorer. They say that the rear differential isn't a safety issue....... Lets keep this real simple they will lock up at some point. Usually with out warning... Hears one other issue all linked to the rear end.. Ever notice that 90% of ford explores have a sag in the rear end of them ??? I've seen older models to newer models with the same sage.. Linked to there rear suspension
