Very annoying unable to pass inspection in nyc. I was told it was the cam sensor and had it replaced. The light was off for a bout a week and it lit back up.

The check engine light came on one day and just stayed on. It doesn't stay on 24/7, it will go off now and then, again for no apparent reason, but only for a short time and then it's back on again.

It seems to interfere when I need to get an inspection sticker, which is coming up again in less than a month. My husband pull some kind of trickery and gets the light off long enough to get it inspected, but I can't say what it is he does. My comfort level really takes a dive with check engine on all the time. I feel guilty having any passengers in my car. I feel like I am jeopardizing their well-being. I would be just as concerned if this was the only warning light that's on all the time, but of course, it isn't. I need to file yet another complaint on the O/D light.

Soon after buying the car it wasn't long did I experience the check engine light coming on. I had it fixed twice only to realize that when I go to the gas station and not securely fitting the gas cap...on comes the light. Now, I just drive around with that annoying yellow light on...it's funny because sometimes it goes out on its own, but it's short lived because once I fill 'er up again it comes back on...ha ha ha!!! I laugh so that I don't cry!!!

Getting po171/po171- too lean. From what I have seen & heard about this problem, the first repair is to replace the O2' sensors. Mine has 4. 2 before the catalyst & 2 after. only the front 2 inputs info to the computer. $60-$100 each. the problem is it can be a hundred other items, from mass airflow sensor to coolant temp. sensor, to exhaust leak/ intake leak, to...??? Does ANYBODY have any sugestions?
