problem #2

Feb 102010

Explorer XLT AWD 5.0L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 145,000 miles

I bought this car in Feb and I realized it when I drove it off the lot. Its not a huge deal but if someone besides me drives it can be a problem bc they will drain my battery. The light switch wheel by the steering wheel has to manually be "clicked off" before you can exit the vehicle or the dome and outside mirror lights stay on and do not go off. Also if I want to return to my vehicle after I do this I must "click on" the light wheel AFTER I START DRIVING to get my dash lights to show up otherwise my dome comes on but no dash lights (it must be all the off before I do this)...it almost seems like I have to be going over 10 mph and then push the switch up for the dash lights to come on. Sometimes I have to do it a few times bc the dome will come on instead even though the light wheel is NOT "clicked up" all the way. Im sure its electrical but its not really a huge deal and I dont think its worth paying someone a bunch of money to tear apart the car.
