I have noticed that this is a constant problem with Explorers of this year. Anytime i hear a vehicle squeaking i know without a doubt that its an Explorer or another Ford SUV or truck and this is sad.

I was told by my mechanic that the ball joints should have lasted much longer! My car was not the first one he had seen with same problem.

How to do this. They should come with grease fittings!

Ball joints replaced two times on my Explorer. Once at 53,000 miles and the next at 98,000 miles. Shoulda gotten rid of the vehicle, but at 97,000 the transmission blew and the repair was $3600, so I feel I need to keep it for awhile. Today I found owhen I brought it in for a radiator hose leak (which ended up to be a faulty thermostat -- just a $190 repair) out that there is leak from the transfer case .... another $800 repair. UGH!!!!!! I forgot to mention the dash lights are burning out, another $200 to take the dash apart, and of course the radio/cd LED lights haven't worked for 4 years, and despite changing the trailer light housing, I cannot get trailer lights to work -- the wiring has gone bad somewhere underneath the chassis. If it weren't for all of that, I would say it is a great vehicle ;o) the cargo space is great, and the power for trailing the pontoon is also good. Thanks for indulging me here.
