The side-walls of the original tires are splitting. You can see past the rubber and into the tire itself. Have spoken to service tech's and they advise this is not a good thing. I have replaced these tires, but still have the original tires. Ford, nor Firestone, will do anything about the splitting of the tire and I am unable to get my money back that I have paid out. I was not expecting to replace these tires for at least another two years. I travel alot in this vehicle, with my 20 month old daughter, and I was not going to wait to become a statistic before replacing these tires. Can anyone help to get these tires put on firestones recall?( dot number: W2hl tire size: 235/75R15 )

I reported having problems with my tires to pulliam Ford and Firestone dealers. I recieved a cold shoulder and a general lack of concern for my situation or my wellfare. Two days later I nearly killed myself on the way to work when my left right tire exploded and came of the rim for no apparent reason. I had my complaint formally documented my Ford Motor Company's headquaters on 9/12/2000, the blowout occured two days later. I had been experiencing problems sustaining air pressure in all four of my tires weeks previous. I also had my tire inspected for the problem by Ford who told me I had know problem. The tire that blew was not of the type listed on the recall meaning the dot # did not start with vd. I have reported my experience( blowout) to pulliam Ford this morning and recieved once again lack-luster service and a direct refusal to assist me in providing a safe vehicle for mine and my family's disposal. I can only imagine the consequences had I been going faster than 50 miles per hour, up to this point I just wanted a safe vehicle but, now I feel as if well being has been put at risk when it could have been avoided with little cost by these companies in which I invested my faith. Please help!( dot number: )

Firestone previously replaced front tires due to other defects. Rear tires involved in recall. Firestone will replace rear tires only with other brand (general). Have been advised by Ford not to have unmatched tires on vehicle. Firestone claims no Wilderness AT available in this area for "8 to 12 months". family does a lot of traveling between here and N.Y. and Florida. Need help resolving this issue. I was driving on the freeway at roughly 70mph, when I heard a noise coming from the drivers side rear tire. As I pulled off to safety, I realized the tire was bubbled around the rim, not noticing any punctures, I put the spare on. I am very upset knowing that there are only 25,000 miles on my leased vehicle & I had to replace tires so soon. I do believe there was a defect in the tire itself. Thankfully my family is okay knowing that SUV's will roll over due to a tire blow out.( dot number: W2.... tire size: P235/75R15 )

Although my tires had not yet failed, I was compelled to replace them with Goodyear Wrangler rt/S tires. This was done at my own expense. The Firestone dealer that I went to for the inspection did not even look closely at them. He simply glanced at one tire and said "those are 16 inch tires and they haven't been recalled. They're fine." They don't look fine to me. There are at least 34 incidents of my size tire on your complaints spreadsheet. There could be as many as 89 of them. That is enough for these tires to be added to your consumer advisory list. It's your responsibilty to protect us from this kind of design flaw. Please prevent further deaths by recommending the recall of every tire that's on the complaint list. Best regards, lyle geurin.( dot number: Vncu1px438 tire size: P255/70R16 )

I wanted to note that on 4 different occasions I have had blowouts. For no apparent reason. Starting in September of 1999 and dating through April of 2000. I have the receipts for the tires that I have replaced, but looking at their reimbursement policy they may not reimburse me. I feel very unsafe in this vehicle! I have taken it in for the test and they are stating I still have 2 of the tires on from the plant of the recall. I am requesting all four tires because of the customer service I have received from these people. Basically they don't care. I want a totally different brand. I understand that I am one of many, but they have yet to contact me or answer any of my questions pertaining to this. I have called and left numerous messages also sent numerous emails and still have no respond. Please can you help me. I don't know the dot numbers on the tires that I replaced, but I feel with as many problems that I have had -they must be from that plant. Please respond to me what, if any results will be taken. I will also notify phil long Ford once again. Thank you, paula day.( dot number: Tire size: 15 )

I have been inflating my tires to the Ford specifications, when my local Ford dealer "inspected" the tires in regard to a "recall" they said it was not defective because the "code" was ok.they made no recomendation for a proper inflation pressure!should I follow the manufacturers recomendation" will I be dead when they relize these tires are defective?will I be the lead story on the nightly news before Firestone replaces them?I can not trust Ford or Firestone to do the right thing!!please use your power to protect the american public !!( dot number: ???" tire size: P235/75R15 )

I was driving down I-390 at approx 70mph when we started hearing a strange noise. I slowed down to approx. 60mph and changed lanes to determine if it was just road noise. Within seconds, passenger side rear tire blew out. Fortunately, I was able to keep vehicle under control and stop safely. Firestone told me that I probably ran over something, which would not be covered under warranty. After they examined the tire, however, they replaced it free of charge (sidewall was pretty much gone).( dot number: W2"????" tire size: P255/70R16 )

Tire was flat in the morning following five hours of continuous driving the previous day/evening. Possibly due to sidewall puncture; concern that this may be related to Firestone tread separation issue. I only replaced this tire (I kept the failed tire for further analysis), but am seriously concerned over the quality of the remaining tires.( dot number: Tire size: P255/70R16 )
