this ford is driving me crazy if anyone knows how to stop the humming noise from under the hood please share it with me........can't not replace this vehicle right now...and god knows I have spent enough repairing everything else

Update from Sep 14, 2010: believe car is fixed.........haven't heard the noise since we replaced the idle air control valve.

Was sitting in a parking lot on a hot day with my girlfriend and all of a sudden it just started humming, we both noticed right away, and i turned my truck off, then back on and it wasn't humming. ever since, the humming kind of comes and goes, most of the time on hot days though. Definitely an annoying thing to deal with, when it starts it will drown me and my music out, and others can hear it as well. Like the previous report, whenever i step on the gas though, it goes away.

i have noticed that on a hot day i have this really loud hum coming from under the hood of my truck. i thought it was because the a/c but it does it even if i don't run it. it is so damn annoying!! for the first month it was doing it, every time i tried to get someone to listen to it, it wouldn't hum. now it does it and EVERYONE hears it. oh yeah, when i give it gas weather i am driving or idling i cant hear it. if anyone has the same problem i would like to know.
