The body mounts being bad in my explorer causes an annoying vibration while traveling and the dealership wants $1,000 to fix it. No other company sells the mounts for an explorer sport. If this problem is not taken care of it can cause the body to shift and the driver will loose control of the vehicle which will cause accidents.

this is very ridiculous and very unsafe. i cannot believe FORD is getting away with stuff like this. this should be a recall because an accident could occur from the body roll this is causing. the body mount are like Styrofoam, whats left of them. i went to ford to buy replacements and they dont make all of them anymore. I WONDER WHY THAT IS? as if we don't know the answer to that question!! HOW DO BIG COMPANIES LIKE THIS GET AWAY WITH PUTTING OUR LIFES IN DANGER????????? WHY IS OUR LIFE WORTH LESS THAN MONEY???? I DON'T GET IT. I'M GOING TO TELL EVERYONE I CAN ABOUT WHAT FORD HAS DONE HERE AND HOW MANY YEARS I KNOW THEY HAVE BEEN DOING THIS. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO FRUSTRATED WITH THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW CAN THEY CHARGE SO MUCH HARD EARNED MONEY FOR JUNK???? NO MORE FORD'S FOR ME EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I HAVE A 2001 FORD EXPLORER SPORT , AND THE BODY MOUNTS ARE GONE,ON A 2001 MODEL.I WOULD THINK THESE MOUNTS WOULD LAST FOR THE LIFE OF THE TRUCK . THESE MOUNTS CRUMBLE LIKE DIRT WHEN YOU TOUCH THEM. IF YOU HAVE THIS MODEL, YOU MAY WANT TO TAKE A LOOK UNDER YOUR TRUCK TO SEE WHAT YOURS LOOKS LIKE. SO FAR ALL I CAN SEE IS THE TWO MOUNTS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR. I READ ON THE INTERNET ABOUT PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I THINK FORD SHOULD HAVE A RECALL AND REPLACE THESE MOUNTS BECAUSE OF POOR MATERIAL THEY WERE MADE OF.

Ford installed defective body mounts, whoever the supplier was, unless they were internally built. Body mounts are a non-maintenance item. The original, factory body mounts deteriorate regardless of vehicle use. That is easily verified, and obvious, and established fact; i.e., there are numerous instances of mount deterioration.
One can see body mounts in perfect condition, even in cars going back to the 1940s or 1950s. I have worked on those cars. Ours is a clean example, used in city/hiway driving, that has not been off-road or to the beach.
These defective body mounts may produce accidents due to loss of control, including fatal accidents. One would think that Ford Motor Company would have learned from its history of prior lawsuits, which included fatalities due to defects, and not just, again, weighing costs related to deaths vs simply replacing the defective body mounts. One would also hope that someone at the company, with authority, has a conscience.
