Explorer LX 4.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 77,500 miles

I just got this vehicle the 18th of feb. heated seats worked fine, then on Monday they would not turn. There is no lights indicating red/green. I have checked the fuses, is there a relay fuse for this? I don't think it is the element, because neither pas or drivers side lights up. Place i got it from have been no help. Does any one have any idea what caused this? Thanks

Explorer Eddie Bauer V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 103,000 miles

I have a 2005 explorer, and for the last 2 years the heated seats have worked fine. This year when I push the button on the side of the seat on, it some times comes on, and sometimes it won't come on. When it does come on, it shuts off when ever, or it will go days the way it should work. If it doesn't come on when I hit the button, I can hold it in and it will work, but a soon as I let go it will shut off. I can't figure what makes it work or not work. I did switch the button, with the passenger side and it did not do any good. If I can get it to stay on the seat heats up just fine. Repair guy called Ford, the have no idea. They state they have never heard this????
