Every time I wash it I find more paint gone. Soon I will have no paint left.

I think ford should pay to have the roof repainted. I'm sure I'm not the only person that has this problem. Car cost way to much to have the paint flake off in the wind.

I noticed the paint peeling on the roof of the truck along the grooves. Another problem with this truck. Unbelievable!!! Problem not covered - warranty expired.

the paint on the roof of my explorer is really peeling bad. it looks like there was not primer or clear coat put on it. the truck is not driven a lot and the paint is peeling. I have not had it long. Never had a car to do that. I am not happy

I am having the same problem as many of you regarding paint peeling on the hood of my truck. It is really shocking to me that I have left 2 emails, 1 phone call and a trip to the dealership and still no one is willing to take care of this problem. I am at my wits end with Ford. I tell everyone not to buy a Ford. Hey FORD are you listening???.

W/less than 30,000 miles I did not expect the paint to be bubbling and peeling. A 1and 1/2 inch sized paint chip came off down to the silver metal a small chip right next to it. From the complaints I read, I guess it is a waste of time to check to see if this is covered. It should be covered.

I too noticed the paint bubbling on my hood. I did some research and found that Ford is aware of the problem and issued a TSB which is a guideline on how to fix it, but it isn't a recall and isn't covered by Ford. Apparently the hood is aluminum and the aluminum wasn't prepped properly at the factory which is what is causing the paint to bubble. I contacted Ford at 37000 miles when I noticed it and they said it's out of warranty and there is nothing they can do about it. I could go to a crap place like Maaco and have it repainted for $200, but the average quote I got from reputable body shops was $800. Way to go Ford, you can't even do a paint job properly.

i was cleaning vehicle and installed cross bars for roof rack because they were sitting in my garage for months.i noticed that the paint was no longer there above the hatch,it is actually down to bare metal like it was never painted, strait from the factory.went to ford for oil change ,they looked at it took pictures, and response was out of warranty not covered, but when i called ford they said the consumer damaged it them selves.who in their right mind would damage their own vehicle,I also said that i would help pay also for some of the repair ford said it is not our problem.

I have a 2006 Ford Explore Eddie Bauer, the paid is also peeling from the front of the hood. I called Ford and they are saying my warranty is up as of 5/10/09. I only have 41K mileages on it. I cannot believe they won't cover this. My husband always washes and wax the car. I will never purchase a ford again.

The peeling paint on the roof of the vehicle is a obvious factory defect. There is no way paint should fail like this with out any type of collision whatsoever . The paint is failing all over the roof.
If anyone is aware of any recourse that I may have kindly notify me, Thank you for letting me vent..
