All one has to do is go to a wrecker and find a vehicle that has been scrapped and purchase the instrument cluster and install it on your high mileage vehicle, there by reducing the mileage on the vehicle - or at least appears lower.
Unfortunately I was raised in a small population area and I trust people. Now that was stupid on my part.
Anyway the actual mileage was over twice what was reported on the odometer. I did not think that Ford would allow such a simple way to rip people off. The mileage should be stored securely in the computer and also in the instrument cluster as well. If they differ then a "tilt" light should go on.
