This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Ford dealer.
AC was on max and high fan and putting out hot air 7 months after I purchased. Took it into dealer and they could not find a problem and said it was 107 degrees outside so it was reasonable. Took it back in Oct and they added some coolant, still did not fix problem. Took back in April, dealership would not work on it due to the problem was not active when technician rode in the car.
Before I purchased this NEW car, I had a 200 Lincoln LS with the same AC problems. Looking at reviews of Ford vehicles and Ford seems to has problem with AC in all cars. Something needs to be done with AC problem. If no solution, I will fill LEMON LAW due to care has other problems also.

Driving suv home from Best Buy and had A/C on. It was about 30 Celsius outside and had the air on at 25. Then it started blowing hot air and engine thermometer was almost all the way at H. Pulled over just in time for the engine to blow all of the hot antifreeze it had all over the place. Called the Ford dealership and they said it wouldn't be covered by warranty. This is the first and last Ford I will ever buy. I would expect something better from an expensive SUV. I am going to trade it in soon for a Honda Pilot. Should have gone with that in the first place.
Update from Dec 10, 2011: Turns out the radiator cap was defective... they charged me 90.00 for a new rad cap and new cover plate for the engine because the other one was scorched from the hot antifreeze. I traded the stupid thing in for a Honda Pilot and have never had a problem in the 6,000km that I have driven it so far.
