When I took my 2011 Ford Explorer to ford's dealer for engine light on they stated that I needed a Cat. Converter, Tuneup, Coil Boots and Intake Gasket. I declined at the time for them to fix it because it was in other problems included.

Explorer Limited 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,500 miles

When We bought our new car 3 months ago I noticed a slight ticking noise in the engine after we got it home. I tried to tell myself it was nothing as it would go away after the engine warmed usually. After a few months I finally took it in. They reported that there was a major problem with the fourth cylinder. Ford told the dealer that it would be a cheaper solution to just replace the engine rather than go thru the diagnostics and potential involved repair. The car is only 3 months old with 2500 miles.
